The Tarot Reader
Volume 2
People often wonder how to learn to read cards. They usually try to learn meanings from books and that may work in some way from time to time. It can be difficult, though, to relate the supposed meaning to the question that was asked.
At the same time, we don’t just want to make it up and give predictions based on nothing much.
The various methods and exercises shown in the previous 13 Chapters will get you making sense of the cards that come up in a spread.
We leave the last word to Jackson Pollock (1912 – 1956) who once wrote:
I think they, the public, should not look for, but look passively, and try to receive what the painting (on in our case the Tarot card illustration) has to offer, and not bring a subject matter or preconceived idea of what they are to be looking for. I think the unconscious drives do mean a lot in looking at paintings. They should be enjoyed, just as music is enjoyed. After a while, you may like it or you may not, but it doesn’t seem to be too serious.
What would you discover and unearth if you just relaxed and examined a Tarot card with interest?
